CleoBot First Run — setup guide

Before you start

Check off each completed step

Windows and display

Display settings affect the position and colours of the game's interface. Apply them to the monitor on which you run Metin2.

Set scaling to 100%

Open Windows Settings → System → Display → Scale and select 100%. Any other scale shifts image elements away from their expected positions.

Turn HDR off

Open Windows Settings → System → Display → HDR and turn Use HDR off. HDR changes how colours are displayed.

Turn Night light off

In Windows Settings → System → Display, turn Night light off. Its warm filter makes in-game colours inconsistent.

Graphics and overlays

Leave image enhancement to the game. A driver or overlay can add a filter or a layer over the game window that is not part of the normal view.

NVIDIA: desktop colours

Open NVIDIA Control Panel → Display → Adjust desktop color settings. Set Digital Vibrance to 50%; leave brightness, contrast and gamma at their default values.

AMD Radeon: default colours

Open AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition → Settings → Display. Keep Custom Color switched off. If it was changed, restore its default values and then switch it off.

Disable every overlay

Disable in-game overlays in Discord, NVIDIA App / GeForce Experience and AMD Software. Also turn off Xbox Game Bar, Steam Overlay, Overwolf and similar apps if you use them.

Game settings

CleoBot is prepared for a fixed game-window size. Do not change these settings while the bot is running.

Select your game server

We will show the settings required for the client you use.

Requirements for Projekt Hard

Windowed mode

In Metin2 options, select windowed mode. Do not use fullscreen or borderless window mode.

1024 × 768 resolution

Set the game resolution to exactly 1024 × 768. Leave all other graphics settings at their defaults.

Tahoma 12 font, hard style

Set the font to Tahoma at size 12 and select the hard font style.

Set these values before starting the bot and keep them unchanged during a session.

Antivirus and Windows Defender

Add the entire folder where you extracted CleoBot to your antivirus exclusions, including the .exe file. Do not turn off real-time protection for the entire computer.

Windows Defender

Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings → Exclusions → Add an exclusion → Folder. Select the exact CleoBot folder.

Another antivirus

In your antivirus app, find Exclusions / Exceptions / Allow list and add the exact CleoBot folder. The option's name differs between products.

Why an alert may appear

Release files have a changing name and use protection and encryption that make code theft harder. Antivirus heuristics can mistakenly flag those characteristics as suspicious.

Exclude only the correct folder

Add an exclusion only for a package downloaded from cleobot.net. Do not ignore alerts about other files or add broad exclusions for a drive or your entire antivirus.

You are ready

Once every point is checked, you can launch CleoBot and the game. If something goes wrong, return to this guide — a display setting or overlay is usually the cause.
